Relax, Soften,
Refresh

With no shortage of reasons why skin looks less vibrant and more wrinkled as we age, it’s no wonder that neuromodulators, such as Botox, are one of the most popular skin rejuvenation techniques on the market today.

Men and women of all ages take advantage of the powerful properties of Botox to maintain and enhance their existing appearance or to turn back the hands of time. Botox can be used to target specific areas where you’d like your skin tightened or smoothed out, all while giving you a natural and more youthful appearance.

WHAT IS BOTOX?

Botox is just the brand name of a certain neuromodulator, called “Botulinum Toxin Type A” but Botox refers to an injectable cosmetic treatment used to effectively reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the face.

Now, don’t let the word “toxin” scare you, it is completely safe to use (it has been FDA approved since 1989), but only by a licensed medical professional.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEUROMODULATORS AND FILLERS?

Neuromodulators are for limiting muscle movement, fillers are for building volume.

Products such as Botox and Xeomin reduce the activity of muscles in the face that cause wrinkles. Facial fillers, however, fill the trouble areas with a gel made up of hyaluronic acid, which helps to plump and lift the skin to replace volume loss.

WILL THE INJECTIONS  HURT?

The injections are very small, so discomfort is minimal.

HOW SOON WILL I SEE RESULTS?

While the experience of each patient may differ, it usually takes 3-5 days to see the effects. For some, it may take up to 2 weeks to realize the final effects.

HOW LONG DOES BOTOX AND XEOMIN LAST?

Results typically last between 3-5 months from the date of injection. Over time the body metabolizes the product, leading to the slow return of muscle movement in the treatment area.

Patients can choose to maintain their results for longer periods by undergoing periodic maintenance treatments every 3-4 months.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE?

Some patients may wonder if they are ‘too young’ or ‘too old’ to try these treatments. There is no right or wrong age to start using Botox or Xemomin.

Many millennials are starting to using Botox in their twenties when they first start to notice lines and wrinkles or as a preventative measure.
